SERPRO Spill Control Checklists & Workplace Preparedness Templates

SERPRO Workplace Spill Control Resources

Spill Control Checklists & Workplace Preparedness Templates

This SERPRO checklist library brings together practical workplace resources for spill kit checks, spill response planning, drip tray selection, spill documentation, warehouse preparedness and vehicle spill kit reviews.

The purpose of this section is to help businesses move from general spill control awareness to clear, usable action. Each checklist is designed to help staff ask the right questions before a spill occurs, during a response, or when reviewing what needs to be replaced, improved or recorded afterwards.

Select one of the checklist articles listed below to open the relevant guide. Where suitable, the individual checklist pages can also include a clean printable version for workplace records, inspections, staff training, toolbox talks or internal audit files.

Use this section to help review:

  • Spill kit locations, contents and refill needs
  • Oil, fuel and general liquid spill preparedness
  • Chemical spill response considerations
  • Drip tray selection and containment suitability
  • Warehouse and storage area spill readiness
  • Vehicle spill kit provision and mobile response
  • Spill records, follow-up actions and housekeeping improvements

Why these checklists are useful

A spill kit or drip tray is only useful if it is suitable, accessible and checked regularly. These checklists are intended to help workplaces review practical details such as location, condition, contents, capacity, liquid type, PPE, signage, drainage risks and follow-up actions.

They are written for real workplace use rather than as general theory. A warehouse supervisor, facilities manager, transport operator, maintenance team or safety lead should be able to use them as part of a site walk-round, internal review or incident follow-up process.

HTML first, printable when needed

These resources are published as HTML pages so they can be read easily, updated when needed and linked to from relevant SERPRO guides and product categories. This makes the information more accessible than locking it away inside a PDF-only document.

Where a working copy is useful, each checklist page can include a print-ready version with SERPRO branding, version details, review date, action fields, notes areas and signature spaces.

How to use this checklist library

Choose the checklist that matches the task

The articles listed below are organised around common workplace spill control tasks. Start with the checklist that best matches the area you want to review, then use any related SERPRO guide links or product category links included in that article.

1

Identify the area of concern

Decide whether you are checking spill kits, oil response, chemicals, drip trays, warehouse areas, vehicles or spill records.

2

Open the relevant article

Use the checklist page to guide the review and identify any missing items, damaged products or unclear procedures.

3

Record actions clearly

Note what needs to be replaced, relocated, labelled, restocked, reviewed or escalated to the responsible person.

4

Restock or improve controls

Use the relevant SERPRO links within each article to find spill kits, absorbents, trays, drain protection or refill products.

Available checklist articles

The checklist articles in this section are listed below. Open the most relevant article to view the guidance, checklist notes and any printable version provided for that topic.

Important note

These checklists are provided as practical guidance only. They do not replace a site-specific risk assessment, COSHH assessment, safety data sheet review, environmental advice, emergency procedure, legal advice or the instructions of a competent person. Always assess the actual substance, quantity, location, drainage route, exposure risk and site controls before selecting spill response equipment or carrying out clean-up work.
