Lithium batteries themselves don't contain acid. However, there is a notable risk of generating Hydrofluoric Acid when the battery electrolyte interacts with moisture in the air or stagnant water. Hydrofluoric acid is an extremely hazardous substance that can result in fatal consequences even with exposure to relatively small quantities. It is essential to avoid using standard chemical absorbents in such cases.
This particular Spill Kit features a unique acid neutralizer, VEOSORB ANP, and absorbent material. What sets it apart is that it incorporates an indicator to confirm when the spill has been properly neutralized and made safe. This ensures clear visibility of the status of the spill area.
