Spill pads vs spill rolls: which is better?

Question

Should a workplace keep absorbent pads, absorbent rolls, or both?

Short answer

Pads are usually better for quick, localised spills and daily wipe-up tasks. Rolls are usually better where longer runs, bench areas, walkways or larger floor sections need to be covered or cut to size.

SERPRO practical guidance

Choose pads when staff need a fast grab-and-use product near machinery, stores, benches or spill kits. Choose rolls when you need flexible lengths, wider coverage or repeat use across a production area. Many workplaces keep both: pads for immediate response and rolls for larger surfaces or planned maintenance.

Common mistake to avoid

Do not choose only by pack price. A roll can be efficient where it is cut sensibly, but it can also be wasted if staff use long lengths for small spills that a single pad would handle.
