EVO Natural Fibre Absorbent Pads
High-loft absorbent pads designed for the efficient recovery of oils,
fuels, solvents, coolants and many other common workplace liquids.
EVO pads combine the strong absorbency of natural fibres with practical
formats for workshops, factories, warehouses, transport operations,
engineering facilities and mobile maintenance teams.
Recycled absorbent pads for industrial spill control
EVO absorbent pads are manufactured using a high proportion of
recycled natural fibres. Their thick, high-loft structure rapidly
draws liquid into the body of the pad, helping to make effective
use of the available absorbent material.
The pads are oil-preferential, making them particularly effective
for oils, fuels and other hydrocarbon-based liquids. They can also
absorb many water-based workplace fluids, including coolants and
mild process liquids, subject to compatibility checks.
Compared with loose absorbent granules, pads can be positioned
directly beneath a leak or placed across a spill without creating
loose residue. Once saturated, they can be collected and placed
into an appropriate waste container.
EVO pads are available in standard packs, dispenser boxes, compact
clip bags, drum topper formats and packs supplied with drip trays.
This allows the absorbent format to be matched to the way it will
be stored and used.
Why use EVO absorbent pads?
EVO pads provide a practical alternative to conventional polypropylene
pads where recycled content, strong absorbency and efficient pad usage

oil, cutting oil and many other petroleum or synthetic oils.

Assess before use
Outdoor and water-surface use
EVO pads can recover oils and fuels in selected outdoor
applications. However, prolonged contact with water may affect
performance. For extended oil recovery from open water, a
dedicated oil-only polypropylene absorbent may be preferable.
Use specialist absorbents
Strong or unidentified chemicals
Do not use standard EVO pads as a substitute for specialist
chemical absorbents when handling strong acids, strong alkalis,
oxidising substances or unidentified liquids.
Typical industrial applications
EVO pads can be stored at spill-response points or positioned where
leaks and drips are most likely to occur.
Engineering and manufacturing
Use around machinery, pumps, hydraulic systems, production lines,
fluid-transfer points and engineering benches.
Vehicle workshops

How many EVO pads should you keep on site?
There is no single pack quantity suitable for every workplace. Base
provision on the credible spill risk rather than the smallest historic
incident.
For routine drips and maintenance
Keep a dispenser box or compact pack beside the equipment or work
area. Replace stock immediately after use so pads remain available
for the next incident.
For recurring leaks
Use EVO pads inside a suitably sized drip tray. Absorbents should
not replace maintenance or repair of the source of the leak.
For mobile response
Select compact clip bags, boxed pads or a complete spill kit that
can be safely stored in service vans and operational vehicles.
For larger spill risks
Pads should form part of a wider response provision containing
absorbent socks, cushions, disposal bags and drain protection
where appropriate.
Using EVO absorbent pads safely
Follow the site spill-response procedure and wear personal protective
equipment appropriate to the liquid.

Identify and assess
Confirm the spilled liquid, likely quantity, hazards and whether
the incident can be managed safely by the available personnel.

Stop or isolate the source
Close a valve, upright a container or isolate equipment only when
this can be completed without creating additional risk.

Contain before absorbing
Where a spill is spreading, use absorbent socks or other suitable
containment before placing pads over the main body of liquid.

Collect and segregate waste
Place saturated pads into a compatible waste bag or container and
manage them according to the properties of the absorbed substance.
Related absorbent and containment products
A complete spill response may require containment and protection products
in addition to absorbent pads.
EVO pads are oil-preferential rather than strictly oil-only. They perform
particularly well with oils, fuels and hydrocarbons but can also absorb
many water-based workplace liquids.
Can EVO pads absorb coolant and antifreeze?
They can absorb many coolant and antifreeze mixtures. Check the safety
data and compatibility of any additives before use.
Can EVO pads be used on water?
They may be used for selected oil and fuel recovery tasks on water.
However, prolonged exposure to water may reduce oil-selective performance,
so dedicated oil-only polypropylene absorbents may be more appropriate
for continuing deployment.
Are EVO pads suitable for acids and alkalis?
Standard EVO pads should not be selected for strong acids, strong alkalis
or unidentified chemicals. Use a suitable chemical absorbent and follow
the chemical safety data and site response procedure.
Are EVO pads suitable beneath leaking machinery?
Yes. They can be positioned beneath machinery to collect routine drips.
For recurring or larger leaks, place the pad inside a suitable drip tray
and arrange repair of the leak.
How should saturated EVO pads be disposed of?
Disposal depends on the liquid absorbed. Place used pads into a suitable
leak-resistant waste bag or container, segregate incompatible substances
and follow the applicable waste controls.
