Below are the Pollution Prevention Guidelines published by the Environment Agency. General Guide to the Prevention of Pollution: PPG 1
A basic introduction to help you avoid pollution incidents. This guidance refers to information in other PPGs and publications and is being reviewed in 2009/10. The revised document is out of date and was withdrawn on the 14/12/2105.

Above Ground Oil Storage Tanks: PPG2
These guidelines will help you look after your above ground oil storage tanks safely and to minimise the risk of causing pollution. 

Use and design of oil separators in surface water drainage systems: PPG3
To help you decide if you need an oil separator at your site and , if so, what size and type of separator is appropriate. This version was published in April 2006

Treatment and disposal of sewage where no foul sewer is available: PPG4
To help you choose the correct sewage disposal option. This PPG includes information about the treatment and disposal methods available, maintenance and legal requirements. It was published in July 2006.

Works and maintenance in or near water: PPG5
If you are planning works near, in or over water, this guidance provides advice on how to to avoid pollution of the water environment, waste management and incident response. This version was published in October 2007.

Refuelling Facilities: PPG 7
Advice on how to protect the environment through the safe delivery, storage and dispensing of fuels. This version was published in August 2004. See also information under the Defra Groundwater Protection Code: Petrol stations and other fuel dispensing facilities involving underground storage tanks. This guidance is being reviewed in 2009/10

Safe Storage and Disposal of Used Oils: PPG 8
Advice on storing and disposing of used oils safely. This information applies to those carrying out a single engine oil change, to large industrial users. It was published in February 2004 and is being reviewed in 2009/10.

Highway Depots: PPG 10
How to reduce pollution risk from highway maintenance depots.

Vehicle washing and cleaning: PPG 13
This good practice guidance will help you avoid pollution incidents from vehicle washing and cleaning using automatic wash systems, high pressure or steam cleaners and washing by hand. This version was published in 2007

Marinas and Craft: PPG 14
Information on enjoying marinas, waterways, estuaries and coastal waters without harming the environment. This version was published in February 2004.

Stables Kennels And Catteries: PPG 24
Good practice guidance if you manage and operate stables, kennels and catteries. This guidance is going to be reviewed in 2007.

Storage and handling of drums and intermediate bulk containers(IBCs): PPG 26
These notes will help if you deal with the storage and handling of drums and Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). This version was published in February 2004 and is being reviewed in 2009/10.

Installation, decommissioning and removal of underground storage tanks: PPG 27
This guidance covers all underground storage tanks (USTs), including those containing petroleum, diesel, fuel oil, aviation fuel, waste oil, domestic heating oil and other potentially polluting materials such as organic solvents. It was published in July 2007.

Controlled Burn : PPG 28
This guidance will help you decide when and how to use a controlled burn as part of a fire fighting strategy to prevent or reduce damage to the environment. This version was published in July 2007.
